Scanline does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data.

1. About this policy

This policy describes how Scanline (the "App"), an 8-bit emulator, handles information. It is written to comply with Australian privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. Information we collect

The App does not collect:

• Personal information (such as your name, email address, or contact details)
• Device information or identifiers
• Usage analytics or diagnostics
• Location data
• Any tracking technologies such as cookies or advertising identifiers

Any content you create or load in the App — including game files, save states, and settings — remains on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself.

3. Third-party services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data-processing services.

4. Network access

The App functions entirely offline. It does not connect to the internet, make network requests, or transmit any data from your device.

5. Data storage and security

Because no personal information is collected, none is stored on our servers. Files created by the App are stored locally on your device and are protected by your device's own security measures. If you have device backups enabled (such as iCloud backup), the App's local data may be included in those backups, which are managed by your device platform under its own privacy policy.

6. User-provided files

Any files you import into the App are processed entirely on your device. The App does not inspect, catalogue, upload, or share these files, and we have no visibility into what content you use with the App. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any files you import.

7. Platform providers

The App is distributed through app store platforms (such as the Apple App Store). These platforms may independently collect information — such as crash reports, aggregate download statistics, or purchase records — under their own privacy policies. We do not receive personal information from these platforms, and this collection is outside our control. Please refer to your platform provider's privacy policy for details.

8. Children's privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. It is safe for users of all ages.

9. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access and correct personal information held about you. As the App does not collect any personal information, there is no such information to access or correct. If you have concerns about privacy, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

10. International users

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, or elsewhere, the same applies: the App does not collect or process personal data, so no data is processed under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, and no cross-border data transfers occur.

11. Changes to this policy

If the App's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before those changes take effect.
